A New Direction for Mental Health

The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority (The Trust), a public corporation, operates much like a private foundation, using its resources to ensure that Alaska has a comprehensive integrated mental health program to serve Trust beneficiaries. The Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation and Department of Treasury manage the cash assets and the Trust Land Office, within the Department of Natural Resources, manages the land and other non-cash assets.

It is important to understand that Trust lands are managed separately from other State of Alaska lands, in accordance with regulations adopted in 1997. The regulations provide that Trust lands are managed solely in the best interest of the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority and its beneficiaries.
